I earned my Juris Doctor degree from the University of Nebraska in 1979. I was admitted to the Missouri Bar in 1980 and have been practicing in Kansas City, Missouri ever since.  My practice focuses on family law but I also do personal injury, civil litigation, landlord/tenant, traffic and real estate cases.

I have a business-like approach to handling cases mainly because that is the way a judge is going to look at the situation. Communication is important from the first time I meet with a client or with opposing parties, attorneys and judges. Good communication usually results in the case getting settled before it gets too expensive not just in terms of attorney fees and expenses but also the emotional toll. I understand the difficulty of weighing the issues in deciding the best way to handle a case so I lend my experience to each client because ultimately the decision is up to you. If a case needs to be tried I am willing and able to do that. I have tried over 15 jury cases and many before a judge.
